7th October 2014 3 councils of the O Salnés county – Ribadumia, Vilanova and Cambados) – were elected for an international project that studies the improuvement
of the sanitation network

It is a pilot plan of the Saneplan project and Life+ program with the participation of the Galician Technological Institute, and the italian company Phisys connected with the Florence University. Besides the Salnés councils are present the Baiona and Toscana Councils

In summary, it concerns to create planification systems that through what the new technologies offer, allow a full detailed analysis of all the sanitation elements such as pumping, plumbing, valves , registration wells or purifying plants. With this detailed data and using a mathematical and informatic process, try to achieve conclusions that would improuve sanitation and purifying management, also reducing the costs and the number of discharges.

This is a pioneer project in Europe that also will be aware of the increase or reduction of the population, the climate change and even the urban caracteristics.
